Mark Ray, who has made 204 appearances for the club scoring an incredible 128 goals joined Woodbridge Town Under 18's 10 years ago and quickly made his first team debut at the age of 18. Despite leaving for a few seasons the striker returned in 2016 and has been with the club since.

"I'm a local lad and love playing for the club, we have a great set of lads here who I enjoy playing alongside."

We caught up with Mark following confirmation of his contract with Woodbridge Town. "I've spoken to Luke Hyam (22/23 First Team Manager) and Adam Dalby (Chairman) over recent weeks and the club is going in the right direction, it's going to be a good thing to be part of." It's great to see you committing to the club especially after some rumours in the stands about other clubs being interested, we posed to Mark. "I've turned down moves to 2 clubs in the top 6 of our division in the past month."

When asked about the impact he thought Luke Hyam might have next season Mark answered 'I've spoken to Luke a few times and I'm definitely looking forward to playing for him. I'm sure he can build a successful team and have a positive impact on the club. I feel we can really push on next season and compete at the top end of the table."
