Shane Switches To Woodbridge

We're pleased to announce the new signing of Shane Hambling, from SIL Club Benhall St Mary.

Shane is a versatile attacking player who can play anywhere across the front line and will go straight into Saturday's squad for the hope match against Walsham Le Willows.

We caught up with him ahead of the announcement:

After 15 years at Benhall was it a big decision to make the move away?

"One of the hardest footballing decisions I've had to make."

You've got 9 goals under your belt so far this season, can we expect more?

"I certainly hope to score more this season."

What can the supporters expect from you at Woodbridge? "I'll be giving absolutely everything I have in every game I'm involved in for the club.

Finally what are your goals for the rest of the season?

"I want to help Woodbridge finish as high as possible in the league, hopefully contributing with goals and assists along the way".

Shane will be linking up with Kelsey Trotter who spent some time at The Den as recently as the early part of this season before he rejoined Woodbridge.

"Shane came highly recommended to us and is an ideal player to bolster the squad for the climax of the season." Said Head Coach Glenn Snell; "We're looking forward to seeing what he can produce for us at this level and of course, would like to thank Benhall with their help in getting this through.

Our next first team game is Saturday the 26th with a 3pm kick off.
