Woodbridge Town - First Team Manager Vacancy


Woodbridge Town Football Club are inviting applications for the position of First Team Manager ahead of the upcoming season.


Competing at Step 5 of the National League System, Woodbridge Town is an ambitious, community-focused football club with a strong emphasis on player development, togetherness, and progression both on and off the pitch.


We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and driven manager who can lead the club into its next chapter and build a competitive side capable of challenging at the top end of the table.


The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of first-team management, including:


Ongoing Responsibilities

* Maintaining the standards and values of WTFC as set out in the club’s Code of Conduct.

* Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all players and coaching staff while representing the club.

* Delegating responsibilities effectively across the coaching and backroom team.

* Working closely with the First Team support staff.

* Managing within the agreed player budget in collaboration with the club board.

* Liaising with the club treasurer regarding player payments.

* Overseeing player recruitment, signings and transfers alongside the club secretary/registration officer.

* Building a squad that is reliable, committed, trustworthy and capable of pushing for promotion.

* Working closely with the Director of Football, Head of Player Development, U23s and U18s management teams to support player progression and rehabilitation pathways.

* Collaborating with the club physio regarding injuries and player recovery.

* Developing strong working relationships across all areas of the club, including kit management, grounds staff and volunteers.

* Helping strengthen a “One Club” culture across senior, youth, ladies and veterans sections.

* Supporting season planning with the club’s management board.

* Attending and supporting club events and social functions.


Matchday Responsibilities

* Ensuring players and staff are informed of all matchday arrangements.

* Ensuring all staff are wearing the required club kit both on and off the pitch.

* Overseeing collection and management of kit and equipment.

* Managing discipline standards among players and staff.

* Completing all required matchday administration and reporting.

* Providing team news to the club media team.

* Representing the club in media duties and interviews when required.


The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking someone who:

* Has strong leadership and communication skills.

* Can attract and develop players in a competitive Step 5 environment.

* Shares the club’s ambitions and community values.

* Is organised, reliable and committed to long-term progression.

* Holds relevant coaching qualifications (preferred but not essential depending on experience).

* Has experience in non-league football management or coaching.
