Si Stewart Appointed Woodbridge Town Ladies Manager

Woodbridge Town Football Club can confirm Si Stewart has been appointed as Ladies first-team manager ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Following the resignation of manager Ashley Rankin, the club has turned to a familiar face in Si Stewart to lead the team forwards in the 26-27 campaign. Si was previously the ladies' first-team manager in the 2020-21 season and was manager of the Woodbridge Town Girls U16's last season. His appointment reflects the club's belief in his experience in local football and his expertise at developing younger players which make him the perfect candidate to lead this club forward.

Alongside Si as the first-team manager, Jack Frere and Duncan Frere have been appointed as coaches to complete our coaching team.

On his appointment, Si stated, "I’m delighted to be taking over as manager of the ladies’ team and excited to get started in this new role."

"I’m looking forward to working with the squad, helping to develop our younger players as they make a big step up, while also building strong relationships with the experienced members of the team.

"There’s no doubt that we have a tough challenge ahead of us, but it’s one that we’re ready to embrace together. I’m excited about what’s to come and can’t wait to get started with this fantastic group of players."

On his appointment, our Head of Football Operations & Ladies Development, Carl Shemmings, said, "Having Simon back at the club brings experience, quality and stability to the ladies team."

"We're looking forward to having him back at the club and hope this marks the beginning of a successful tenure at Woodbridge Town."

Si's first competitive fixture in charge will be our Women's FA Cup Preliminary Round fixture on Sunday 23rd August. We will confirm more information about that fixture once the draw has been made.
