Woodbridge Town are on the road this weekend as they make the trip to the Daly Group Stadium to take on Fakenham Town. The Peckers are looking to extend their good run against the play-off hopefuls, who equally know the importance of the three points on offer this Saturday. It’s all to play for as Woodbridge enter their final eight games of the season.

The recent form for the Peckers will be encouraging, as after a rough start to the year, Woodbridge have taken back-to-back victories; beating Kirkley & Pakefield 3-1 before defeating Hadleigh United 2-0 on Tuesday. Fakenham have also enjoyed a good run of late, only losing one of their last five league fixtures. They’ll be hoping to keep the run going as they push for the play-offs at the end of this season.

These two sides have met once this season, as Woodbridge fell to a 0-2 home defeat against the Ghosts. Goals from Ethan Flack and Jake Watts guided Fakenham to victory back in December. Saturday’s hosts also beat the Peckers at the Homestyle UK Ground last campaign, in a 1-5 demolition job. But, the reverse fixture did go in Woodbridge’s favour, as the Woodpeckers claimed a 1-2 win.

Looking at who could help the Peckers win this time around, it was great to see Toby Hurst keep a clean sheet on his return from injury last time out. Ryan Marsh has now scored in consecutive games, and will hope to keep his fine form going. Webb and Field will also be keen to add to their tallies this season - both currently sat on eight goals this campaign.

The main threat for Fakenham Town this weekend is Jake Watts, having already scored against Woodbridge this season, and has enjoyed a very strong campaign - scoring twenty-three goals in thirty-six games. Ethan Flack is also a player to watch, being consistently dangerous in the final third for the Ghosts.

Three points could massively help both sides climb the table. A win for Woodbridge could put them as high as ninth, breaking into the top half and building a gap to the sides below. A Fakenham victory would aid their hopes of a top five finish, as a win could see the Ghosts go only a point off the play-offs. Every point matters at this time of the season, especially with how close the middle of the league is.

With not many games left, we need you to get behind the lads for every single minute that’s left this season - it really is appreciated. The side are working hard to try and finish this campaign as strongly as possible, and put Woodbridge Town back towards the right end of the table.
