The Homestyle UK Ground plays host to the FA Vase First Qualifying Round this weekend, as Woodbridge Town take on Lakenheath FC. Fresh off their FA Cup victory, Woodbridge look to put their name in the hat for the next round of the Vase this weekend.
The Woodpeckers have had a solid start to the season, with the new additions integrating well on the pitch. Two wins and two losses to kick off the campaign, though performances across the board have been very positive. After yet another dramatic stoppage-time winner to advance in the FA Cup, the Peckers will hope for a calmer yet similar outcome in the FA Vase on Saturday.
Lakenheath will hope to leave their FA Cup result behind on their trip to Woodbridge, after losing out to a strong Mulbarton Wanderers side. The Heath have had a difficult start to this campaign - falling to defeat in all four matches - though as opening fixtures go, it’s been a tough set of teams to face.

Our FA Vase History
Woodbridge’s best run in the FA Vase was to the Quarter-finals, where the Peckers were defeated in extra time by Thame United in the 1998/99 season. An incredible crowd of 1051 got behind the lads in a historic game for the club.
More recently, the 2019/20 season saw Woodbridge go on a brilliant run to the last 32, before losing 1-0 to Plymouth Parkway. Last campaign, the Woodpeckers were knocked out in the first round of participation by Wisbech Town.
If Woodbridge are to win this weekend, it would be the first time in seven years that they’ve won in the opening round of both the FA Cup and the FA Vase in the same season.
Previous meetings
The Peckers have a strong record against Saturday’s opposition, winning four of their last five games against Lakenheath. Last season, Woodbridge completed the league double over The Heath with a 1-2 away victory followed by a 3-2 win in the penultimate game of the season.
The last loss to Lakenheath was a 3-2 defeat on the road back in February 2025.
With 22 goals scored across the last five meetings between the two sides, including two five-goal thrillers, expect another high-scoring affair this weekend!
