Kris Rose Leaves Woodbridge Town

Club Statement: Kris Rose departs

Woodbridge Town Football Club regret to announce that defender Kris Rose has left the club to join his former side, Ipswich Wanderers.

In his 7 months as a Pecker, Kris has endeared himself to the Woodbridge Town faithful, with his fearless and experienced defending. His warm personality and the fact he left fierce rivals Ipswich Wanderers to join Woodbridge Town made him an instant fan favourite.

He's also become a key part of the leadership team within the squad, captaining the side on nine occasions this season. He's added crucial experience to a youthful squad, helping ease the transition period from Luke Hyam's tenure to our new management team of Chris Rogers and Liam Bevis. He set the perfect example of what it means and what it takes to be a Woodbridge Town player, every time he stepped across that white line. It's no understatement to say his departure so soon after joining, will leave a big gap in this squad.

His consistent performance level has been recognised by the supporters, with him picking up three player of the match nominations for away fixtures this season. A few performances and matches will live long in the memory of Peckers fans. Particularly his showing against Great Yarmouth Town, where his combative defensive display and wonderful assist for Liam Ablitt's header, earned him player of the match that day. His role in the incredible last-gasp 4-3 win over Heacham FC, thanks to a Kubi Kussan last minute winner, will also remain in the memories as a modern classic in Woodbridge Town history.

Therefore, we understand supporters frustrations at this time. Kris was a valuable part of our team. We ask supporters to stick behind the team and managers for the rest of the season, as we work hard to climb the table again. We trust the players at our disposal to fill the gap left by Kris in the squad. We look forward to our trip to the Humber Doucy later this season where we're sure the squad will work even harder to get one over Ipswich Wanderers.

Whilst we can't pretend we're not disappointed with his decision to depart, we thank Kris Rose for his time at Woodbridge Town Football Club and wish him all the best for the future.
