Happy New Year everyone,
As I write this after the club’s New Year’s Eve party — still with a sore head! — we welcome in a new year, and I want to take a moment to reflect on the past few months and, most importantly, to say a heartfelt thank you.
The last year has been another chapter in our club’s journey, filled with hard work, challenges, and moments we can all be proud of. None of what we achieve would be possible without the incredible support we receive week in, week out. To our supporters who follow us home and away, in all weathers, your loyalty and passion are the heartbeat of this football club, and we never take it for granted.
I would also like to thank our players, management, and backroom staff — from our youth teams right through to the First Team — for their commitment, professionalism, and determination throughout the past year. You represent this club with pride at every level, and your hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed.
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who worked tirelessly to get our floodlights back up and running. Paul Dixon devoted countless Days and hours to diagnosing faults, replacing parts, and keeping the project moving forward, while Dave Cotton and Graham King were on hand almost non-stop, helping with anything and everything that needed doing — often through some very long and sleepless nights. I know while watching games all involved were crossing fingers and toes and anything else hoping everything went ok! Their dedication perfectly reflects the spirit of this club.
Thank you to our sponsors and supporters whose generosity made the floodlight repairs possible. Contributions to the floodlight fund helped pay for some new bulbs and much-needed repairs to wiring that is over 30 years old. Every donation, large or small, played a vital part in ensuring the work could be completed.
Thank you to everyone who gave their time, expertise, and funds — your support continues to make a real difference to our club.
A very special thank you must go to our volunteers. From matchday stewards and programme sellers to those working behind the scenes, maintaining facilities, supporting our youth teams, and giving up countless hours of their own time — you are the unsung heroes of this club. Your dedication, often unseen, keeps everything running smoothly, and we are truly grateful for everything you do. If anyone would like to become part of this incredible team of volunteers and help the club, come and see me
To our sponsors, partners, and everyone who supports the club in different ways, thank you for standing by us.
As we look ahead to the new year, we do so with optimism, ambition, and togetherness. Whatever challenges lie ahead, I am confident that by continuing to work as one club, one community, we can make the year ahead a successful and memorable one.
On behalf of the board, I wish you and your families a very happy, healthy, and successful New Year. Thank you for your continued support — we look forward to sharing many more moments together in the months ahead.
Best wishes,
Up The Peckers
