A home defeat for the Woodpeckers in their last match of the season means a 4th place finish.

After their fifth match in a week and with no forwards available it was always going to be a difficult task and so it proved.

Kai Nicholls' effort was on target for the visitors after 3 minutes and from the left backs cross, away Captain Jordan Gent headed over the bar after 16 minutes. Mason Sinclair's free kick was blocked after 27 minutes and after 37 minutes for the visitors from Jordan Chipps' cross, Joseph Carden's shot tested home keeper Alfie Stronge. Carden was again thwarted by Stronge just before the break.

Nicholls' shot deflected for a corner after 51 minutes but the visitors took the lead after 56 minutes, when from Nicholls' pass, Carden lobbed over Stronge to open the scoring. Kade Ivatt's effort went over the bar after 63 minutes and Ryan Sharman's header hit the bar after 83 minutes.

A fourth-place finish for the Woodpeckers, a fantastic effort from everyone connected with the club, especially in the last few weeks of the season.
