A hard-fought victory for the Woodpeckers as they maintained their third placed league position.

Norwich Utd were reduced to 10 men for most of the second half, but still forced Player of the Match, Goalkeeper Alfie Stronge, into making some vital saves, on a night when both Chairman Paul Leech and Glenn Snell both celebrated birthdays, but ultimately Woodbridge were good value for a precious 1-0 win, under the lights at the Homestyle UK Stadium at Nottcutts Park.
Taylor Southgate's effort was on target after 2 minutes. Thomas Huckerby's shot was parried by Stronge after 5 minutes and Evan Bolt's accurate corner was headed wide by Luke Taylor after 8 minutes. Ryan Haylett's cross after 18 minutes found Jordan Buttle and his shot from close range hit the post. The hosts took the lead after 31 minutes when another Bolt's free kick was fumbled by away keeper Elvijs Putnins and from the rebound Southgate's effort just crossed the line. Stronge denied Jordan Forbes' goalbound effort after 38 minutes and Ryan Keeble's cross after 42 minutes was met by Kade Ivatt but his lob went just wide.
Buttle's shot went wide of the post after 48 minutes and after 55 minutes Alby Matthews' free kick tested Stronge. The visitors were reduced to ten men after 62 minutes when Andrew Eastaugh was dismissed after an off the ball incident. Mark Ray's shot tested Putnins after 74 minutes and Southgate's header was on target but a vital moment after 86 minutes when Buttle was clean through for the hard-working visitors but Stronge was off his line quickly to block his effort.
