Brantham Athletic 1 Woodbridge Town 1
Woodbridge made two changes from the previous game against Thetford with Callum Sinclair making his first appearance of the season and Billy Clark starting his first game with Mark Ray dropping to the bench.
The game was being played in midfield with both defences braking up play. On 10 minutes a good run by Brantham’s right back Jack Marshall had his cross headed for a corner by Liam Scopes. The resulting corner was headed clear by the Woodbridge defence. A good run by Dale Hammond who passed to Taylor Southgate and then on to Billy Clarke on the right wing and his excellent centre was just too far ahead of any incoming Woodbridge forwards. Brantham broke forward and Nathan Rowe's shot just wide. A good move by George Bowman whose pass to Andy Crowe whose cross was cut out by the diving Brantham goalkeeper Andrew Plummer. A good shot by Brantham’s Scott Sloots with Alfie Stronge making a good save. Nick Ingram had a good run down the left side and his cross was missed by George Bowman when in a good position. Woodbridge took the lead after 37 minutes when Billy Clarke put a great ball into the penalty area and Andy Crowe nipped in between the Brantham goalkeeper and a defender and scored from a very acute angle. Woodbridge appealed for a penalty when Billy Clark was pulled down in the area although the referee thought otherwise. On a Brantham attack Patrick Brothers' and Scott Sloots' combined well only to see the cross cut out by Sean Rea. Just before half time Woodbridge had to make a substitution with Mark Ray replacing Callum Sinclair who had received an injury. Callum had done well with his speed down the left side of the team. Half time 0 – 1 to Woodbridge.
Brantham came out in the second half attacking the Woodbridge goal and Jonathan Lee’s shot was blocked by Nick Ingram and went for a corner which was cleared by Liam Scopes. On 50 minutes Brantham equalised when Jonathan Lee headed high into the net from a corner. Woodbridge attacked on the right with Nick Ingram making a great run down the right and his cross was cleared only to Taylor Southgate who shot wide. Brantham had a free kick 20 yards out and the ball was pushed to Matthew Hayden who shot hit the post and rebounded back into play and was cleared. On 60 minutes Kyron Andrews replaced Billy Clark. A kick from Alfie Stronge to Nick Ingram on the halfway line had the Woodbridge winger going towards goal only to see his hot saved by the Brantham goalkeeper legs and going for a corner. From the corner Liam Scopes headed just wide. Sean Rea conceded a foul 20 yards out and Matthew Hayden's shot went just wide. Both teams were using long balls to try and get a winner. Woodbridge were attacking the Brantham goal and had a couple of good chances when shots were either weak or missing the goal. Close to full time Woodbridge were awarded a penalty when Kyron Andrews was brought down. Nick Ingram took the kick and Andrew Plummer made a great save to his left. On time Brantham had a corner which was cleared and Scott Sloots hit the rebound over the bar. Full time Brantham 1 Woodbridge 1.
Woodbridge will be pleased with the workmanlike performance and the efforts of all the team. Although a draw was probably a right result Woodbridge will be a little disappointed that they did not win the game on chances alone.

Kirkley & Pakefield
WOODBRIDGE TOWN 2 KIRKLEY AND PAKEFIELD 0 (HT 0-0)
Woodbridge Town gained their first league win of the season against third placed Kirkley and Pakefield after so nearly beating unbeaten Brantham Athletic earlier in the week. Nick Ingram's third Penalty in 10 days and a Superb Liam Scopes' effort in the second half clinched the three points.
Daniel Conroy's shot went wide of the post for the visitors in the first minute and for the Woodpeckers Kyron Andrews' effort after 5 minutes also missed the target. Mark Ray's shot tested away keeper Jordan Smith after 10 minutes and after 33 minutes Ingram's accurate cross was headed goalwards by Andrews and this was parried for a corner by Smith. Ben George's header failed to trouble home keeper Alfie Stronge after 39 minutes and Conroy's effort was well blocked for a corner by Taylor Southgate after 41 minutes and Ben Garnham's free kick just before the break tested Smith.
The Woodpeckers took the lead after 50 minutes after a handball by the away defence inside the Penalty area, Ingram stepped up and made no mistake to make it 1-0. Andrews mazy run beat 3 people after 58 minutes but the winger was denied by a good tackle but after 67 minutes an amazing goal by Scopes and his Wind Assisted Free kick from fully 45 yards hit the top corner of the net to leave Smith beaten and it was 2-0. Scopes' Free kick from 30 yards after 72 minutes was on target for the hosts and George Barber's cross was well held by Stronge after 77 minutes and Billy Clark's Free kick after 88 minutes just failed to hit the target. Tom Shannon's Free kick was tipped over the bar by Smith in the last minute but an excellent team performance with Luke Taylor and Scopes at Centre Half limiting the away side to half chances.
