WOODBRIDGE TOWN 3 HADLEIGH UNITED 3 (HT 3-1)
The Woodpeckers surrendered a 2 goal lead in an entertaining match of six goals as the away side's ten men at the bottom of the table fought back well in the second half. Goals for Carlos Edwards, Ryan Keeble and a superb effort from Ellis Murrell were not enough as the away side fielded loan signing goalkeeper Jack Spurling in the Friday night match.
Matthew Hayden's shot tested home keeper Alfie Stronge in the first minute and Joel Glover's effort went just wide of the post after 6 minutes and Hayden's shot was deflected for a corner after 8 minutes. A minute later Mason Ransome's cross was met by Glover and his unstoppable shot beat Stronge to open the scoring for the visitors. The home side equalised after 17 minutes when Liam Scopes' excellent through ball found Edwards and his shot made it 1-1. Murrell's shot from 25 yards after 20 minutes and it was 2-1 to the Woodpeckers and they made it three goals in only 6 minutes when Jake Rudge's flick found Keeble and his first time shot gave Spurling no chance to make it 3-1. Glover's shot was off target after 35 minutes and Ransome's effort just before the break also went over the bar.
Hayden's accurate corner after 48 minutes found Ben Elliott and he made no mistake from close range. Tom Haste's effort missed the target for the hosts after 53 minutes. Edwards' cross after 59 minutes was headed wide by Rudge but after 66 minutes the away side were reduced to ten men as Hayden received a second yellow card for diving and after 73 minutes Glover's shot was well saved by Stronge but to their credit they equalised after 75 minutes when Ransome's curling free kick from the right wing was headed in by Glover to make it 3-3. George Bowman's shot was well saved by Spurling after 78 minutes and Edwards' corner was headed over by Bowman after 87 minutes. Edwards' shot tested Spurling in the last minute but a valuable point for the away side.

Nathan Read scored his first hattrick for the Woodpeckers as they got back to winning ways in an entertaining match at a very cold Mundford Road. Ryan Keeble, Jake Rudge and Carlos Edwards with a penalty completed the scoring as they climbed to sixth in the league table. Keeper Ben Maidens deputised in goal for injured keeper Alfie Stronge.
The home side took the lead after 6 minutes when Bradley Sandell's cross found Tanner Call and he made no mistake from close range. The Away side equalised after 13 minutes when after a good move involving Rudge and Keeble, Read made it 1-1 with an excellent finish. Sandell's wind assisted free kick after 22 minutes tested Maidens and from Read's pass, Kelsey Trotter's effort was tipped over the bar by home keeper Jamie Humphrey after 25 minutes. Read's shot from 20 yards went over the bar but the Woodpeckers took the lead after 35 minutes when Keeble's swerving shot from distance beat Humphrey and it was 2-1. The hosts made it 2-2 just before the break when Ross Bailey's pass found Sandell and his shot from an acute angle beat Maidens.
Max Melanson's free kick was touched onto the post by Maidens after 46 minutes but after 49 minutes Keeble's pass was met by Read and his shot beat Humphrey and it was 3-2. Rudge was fouled inside the penalty area after 54 minutes by home Captain Luke Bailey, Edwards stepped up to send Humphrey the wrong way with the spot kick and the score was 4-2. Rudge's side foot finish increased the visitors lead to 5-2 after 62 minutes and his shot hit a post only 2 minutes later. An excellent move from the home side after 73 minutes new Signing Jack Brame's one two with Bailey and Brame made no mistake to make it 5-3. Substitute Josh Leech's shot from 20 yards tested Humphrey but in the last minute Read completed a deserved hattrick with a neat finish to complete the scoring.
