SEASON'S LEAGUE CHAMPIONS CELEBRATE |
|
 |
| . |
| The under 9's team are league champions
for 2006-07. With one league match still to play the 'A' Team won 13 of their 15 matches, scoring 47 goals and conceding only 10. The 'B' team have also enjoyed a great season losing only 4 of their 15 games, scoring 38 times and conceding 26 and are likely to finish in fourth place. |
| The 'A' Team played second placed St Johns Youth in their penultimate league match knowing that a draw would leave them needing a victory in their last match but a win would clinch the league title. |
| The game started as expected, with St Johns passing the ball around well and creating most of the chances, but as the game progressed Woodbridge then started to gather momentum, themselves coming close to open the scoring. Half time came and although St Johns had the most chances we knew that at some point in the game our strength and fitness would show. Sure enough Ollie Campbell put a ball through for Sam Chiverton to score his 20th league goal this season. Afterwards Woodbridge were in full control and went on to win the game and become league champions. Well done boys. |
