WOODBRIDGE were
crowned Deben League under 8 champions after a
comprehensive 7-0 victory against Sizewell & Knodishall.
On an exciting final day
to the season, Woodbridge, Kesgrave and Framlingham were
all in with a chance of winning the title.
But
Woodbridge always had the advantage, knowing any sort of
victory at Bredfield would see them home.
And
they didn't let the moment pass.
Declan Condon got the ball rolling for the home side
after five minutes and Zac Cooper scored the first of
another hat-trick soon after, before Pierce Bacon netted
a third just before the break.
The
second half saw Woodbridge continue to add to their
score at regular intervals, Condon, Cooper (2) and Alex
Tripp all getting on the scorechart.
Indeed only the efforts of the superb Sizewell keeper
kept the score down.
Thanks to Sizewell for a sporting occasions, especially
as Woodbridge enjoyed their celebrations.
Indeed a big congratulations to all at Woodbridge U8,
especially all the players, the B team having done
superbly well to gain the runners-up spot in the B
division, and the parents who have steadfastly supported
the management and players throughout.
It's
been a fun, fun, fun season. The champions title is a
wonderful bonus.
Congrats to all.
