Fielding a very young side, the visitors dominated early possession with some neat and tidy football, despite the heavy pitch conditions, going 2-0 up inside the first 20 minutes. After 8 minutes a through ball by Tatum found Richardson who's shot was well saved by the goalkeeper only for JENNINGS to follow up and tap in at the far post. TATUM collected a through ball following a well timed run to make it 2-0.
Walsham pulled two goals back in quick succession, 21st and 25th minutes as the game became more even with both sides looking to attack at every opportunity.
Tatum went close with a long range effort that just cleared the bar, before Woodbridge regained the lead on 32 minutes. Richardson received the ball from Baaham and showed good strength in holding off the defender before crossing for TATUM to score. Jennings showed strength and pace down the left hand side before sending in a shot that beat the keeper only for it hit the inside of the post and drop to safety.
Within three minutes of the re-start Woodbridge went 4-2 up Jack SEVERY scoring at the second attempt. It was 5-2 after 62 minutes with RICHARDSON getting on the scoresheet after a fine through ball and lobbing the keeper from 25 yards, MAYHEW made it 6-2 with a neat finish a minute later.
Allison in the visitors goal dealt confidently with shots and crosses as Walsham continued to try and find a way back in to the game.
With Sean Rea and Danny Tatum pulling the strings in midfield, Woodbridge continued to create chances and perhaps should have added to their tally.
