Town hit Walsham Le Willows for six
Wednesday 31st October 2007
Walsham Le Willows 1 Woodbridge Town 6
On All Hallows Eve, Woodbridge well and truly buried the ghosts of the nightmatre on Julius Martin Lane with an emphatic victory at Walsham le Willows.
Jon Bickers returned from injury in place of the injured Ben Miller to partner Mark Roper in central defence and Arran Sheppard started at full back with Jamie Scales with Grant Monaghan rested. Allicion Blake started his first game since his injury at Wroxham alongside Lee O'Neill in attack and Luke Read started alongside midfield regulars Aaron
Churchyard, Paul Hart and Paul Berry.
The home side were ahead on 15 minutes when a crossfield ball behind Arran Sheppard was collected by Matt Dixon who rounded Marcus Garnham to stroke the ball in but Woodbridge were level nine minutes later when Lee O'Neill's cross from the right was turned in by Allicion Blake, repeating a move that has previously paid dividends this season. On the half hour Woodbridge were ahead when Paul Hart flicked a header towards goal from a Paul Berry corner and Lee O'Neill in turn added the final touch with another header.
Shortly before half time Allicion Blake hit the side netting with only the keeper to beat and in doing so pulled up with cramp and was duly replaced by Tony Boto at the restart.
Paul Hart twice came close to scoring in the opening minutes of the second half first with a header from another O'Neill cross and then again with a header following a short corner which was whipped into the box by Arron Churchyard.
On 58 minutes Tony Boto was brought down just inside the penalty area to provide a penalty which Paul Hart fired in low to the keepers right. Paul Berry then lofted a superb cross across the area finding Lee O'neill who cut inside his marker to send a shot against the upright from a narrow angle.
on 75 minutes Paul Berry found Tony Boto in space in the area who skipped past his defender to the goal line before pulling the ball back for Berry to fire high into the goal for Woodbridge's fourth.
With the benefit of a three goal lead, Woodbridge replaced Lee O'Neill for Craig Jennings and Jamie Scales for Grant Monaghan and on 84 minutes Tony Boto again caused the Walsham defence problems poking a shot goalwards which beat the keeper but was deflected wide for a corner. Boto finally got his reward for his evenings work with two minutes remaining capitalising on a defensive slip to take the ball around the keeper to score his first senior goal at woodbridge from a narrow angle.

In injury time Tony Boto then disposessed a defender and was brought down on the goal line providing a free kick which Paul Berry drilled across the box for Paul Hart to finish from ten yards to cap a vastly improved performance from Woodbridge

Woodbridge: Marcus Garnham, Arran Sheppard, Jamie Scales (Sub Grant Monaghan 78 Mins), Luke Read, Mark Roper, Jon Bickers, Aaron Churchyard, Paul Hart, Allicion Blake (Sub Tony Boto 45 mins), Paul Berry,  Lee O'Neill (sub Craig Jennings 76 mins).
