Woodbridge Town 1 Swaffham Town 2
Saturday 29th December 2007
After the encouraging Boxing Day win at Leiston, Woodbridge failed to take their chances - unlike visitors Swaffham Town.
Swaffham were unfortunate to have an early penalty appeal for handball turned down but to compensate in the third minute a long ball over the top found Rory Harper who placed his shot wide of Marcus Garnham to give the visitors the lead.

Ben Seaman beat the offside trap but his shot across the keeper was wide. Seaman then earned a free kick which he sent to the near post but Jon Bickers header was deflected over.

On 22 minutes Swaffham extended their lead as Voutts dispossessed Ryan Foster midway in the Woodbridge half, passing to Raspberry who beat Garnham from an angle.

Luke Read won a free kick which Craig Jennings headed over and Lee O'Neill also fired just over from Seaman's mis-hit cross. Jennings then shot wide when on the receiving end of a long ball as Woodbridge, unlike the visitors failed to take their chances in front of goal

Woodbridge were back in the game after a lively opening five minutes when Read flicked a header from a Seaman corner over Norris.

Setchelll conceeded a free kick 20 yards from goal but Seaman's strike was inches wide. Stuart King then shot over from a Swaffham free kick then Read should have equalised on the hour when his free header at the near post from a Jennings corner kick somehow ended the wrong side of the upright.

Woodbridge played neatly when in posession but the contest fizzled out and neither side had a shot on target in a disappointing final 30 minutes.

Woodbridge Team: Marcus Garnham, Aaron Churchyard, Grant Monaghan, Ryan Foster, Simon Peddie, Mark Roper, Luke Read, Jon Bickers, Craig Jennings, Lee O'Neill, Ben Seaman. Subs: Stephan Marsh, Paul Hart, Ishmail Toumi, Jamie Scales
