WOODBRIDGE took control of this match in the second period to deservedly return from Plantation Park with all three points.

Second-half goals by Ben Seaman and Paul Hart in the space of four minutes wrapped up the points for the Woodpeckers as the home team were unable to mount a response.

Neither side was able to master the windy conditions in the first half in which Norwich should have taken the lead after just five minutes when Marcus Garnham completely missed his kick in trying to clear the ball outside his area but Adam Ferguson shot wide of an empty goal.

Woodbridge had created their best opening two minutes prior to that when Sean Rea's ball released Allicion Blake and his cross-shot was too hot for Matthew Hill to hold but neither Lee O'Neill nor Hart could pounce on the rebound.

Blake was at the centre of Woodbridge's only other attack of note, running with the ball and holding off defenders but O'Neill's subsequent cross was wasted as it sailed harmlessly behind.
Either side of that Marcus Garnham was tested by Paul Atkins, safely clutching his acrobatic volley on the half hour and then 10 minutes later blocking his close-range shot after the striker got in behind the visitors' defence.

Woodbridge upped the tempo at the start of the second half as Blake cut in from the right past two defenders but his shot lacked the power to trouble Hill who saved low down to his left.

Tom Jeal hooked over the bar at the end of a promising Norwich move in the 54th minute and a minute later Seaman's right-wing corner was headed wide by the unmarked Miller beyond the far post.

However, Woodbridge took the lead on the hour when O'Neill lobbed the ball over the top of the defence for Blake to run clear and although Hill save his shot, Seaman picked up the rebound and composed himself before sending an accurate shot just inside a post.

Blake saw his shot deflected wide for a corner three minutes later, but Woodbridge extended their lead from it as O'Neill's flag kick was flicked back across goal by Miller beyond the far post and Hart swivelled to lash a right-foot half volley into the roof of the net.

The home team were unable to get themselves back in the match and did not really threaten the visitors' goal, while Woodbridge's best two efforts thereafter came when Hart dragged his shot across goal after Seaman had pulled the ball back from the byeline and Jon Bickers' shot was tipped round the post by Hill.

The game degenerated due to some niggly tackles with five booking in the last quarter to make seven in total - four for Norwich and three for Woodbridge - as Blake was the victim of a couple of heavy challenges.
