A well timed tackle from Miller prevented
Claydon opening the score for Mildenhall Town on
6 minutes, then Garnham had to tip over a fierce
drive from Murkin. Woodbridge's first real effor
on goal came after 23 minutes but
Tournay-Godfrey's shot across goal was deflected
wide, then Campberll tried his luck from the
edge of the box for the visitors but fired over.
On the half hour Woodbridge
opened the scoring when Hart's throughball found
Nash clear who coolly placed his shot wide of
Nower. Campbell should have equalised just
before the break but his shot when one on one
with Garnham was weak and wide, then seconds
later a fine effort from Hughes crashed against
the crossbar.
On 52 minutes Woodbridge were
two up when Churchyard passed across the area to
Seaman who beat the keeper at his near post from
6 yards. The highlight of a rather uneventful
following 20 minutes was when last season's top
scorer Allicion Blake returned from a long
injury to replace Seaman for the final 20
minutes and his first pass gave Hart an
opportunity but his shot was blocked. Blake was
again the provider as Woodbridge sealed the
points with 3 minutes remaining finding Nash who
shot low into the corner of the goal before
Mildenhall substitute Baillie scored a
consolation for the visitors with the last kick
of the game.
