TWO goals in the final 15 minutes saw Woodbridge claw back a point as the curtain came down on Ridgeons League Premier Division football for another season at Notcutts Park.

Goals from Kelsey Trotter and Blake Saker saw the visitors establish a comfortable lead before substitute Paul Hart pulled one back and then Ben Seaman equalised with seven minutes remaining.

Both sides fielded young teams and Woodbridge, playing the third of four games in eight days, gave a full debut at left back to first-year SETEC player David Kempson, who produced an assured display.

Leiston took just five minutes to take the lead when Trotter finished well inside the near post after the ball fell kindly for him in the Woodbridge penalty area.

Woodbridge responded after 25 minutes when Seaman cut in off the right flank and flashed a 20-yard shot wide of the target and nine minutes later a good diagonal ball forward by Mark Roper was headed back across goal by Craig Jennings and Seaman could not get on the end of it as the ball was scrambled clear at the expense of a corner.

Danny Morphew showed good control before playing the ball out wide to Danny Cunningham on Leiston's left wing but his low cross was cut out by Woodbridge goalkeeper Marcus Garnham.
The half ended with a left-wing corner by Seaman being flicked on at the near post by Kempson before being cleared for another corner.

Woodbridge brought on Paul Hart to play through the middle up front in the second period in place of the ineffective Jennings and in the 51st minute Mark Goldfinch's back pass played Gary Rose into trouble and the keeper had to deflect Hart's effort behind for a corner.

Woodbridge were looking more threatening and Hart played in Seaman on the right and his cross found Luke Read but he could not get any power in his effort.
However, Leiston doubled their advantage in the 68th minute when Simon Peddie's header back to Marcus Garnham did not carry enough power and Saker took advantage to finish well past the exposed keeper.

Seven minutes later Woodbridge pulled a goal back when Roper played a good ball out of defence and Jack Severy cut inside his marker and squared acorss the face of goal for Hart to turn it home from close range.

Read headed a right-wing Seaman corner narrowly wide and then Seaman passed up the chance of an equaliser when he got clear of the defence but failed to lift the ball over Rose.
Substitute Ben Garnham fired over the top after Severy had cut the ball back to him in the 81st minute before Seaman brought the Woodpeckers level two minutes later. Kempson played the ball over the top of the defence and Hart controlled well before shooting but the effort was blocked and fell invitingly instead for Seaman to score from the rebound.

Hart was booked for punching the ball into the Leiston net four minutes from time and Marcus Garnham had to pull off a good save from Pip Boyland's cross-shot with virtually the last kick of the game as Woodbridge held on to take four points off their rivals this season.

Woodbridge Town: Marcus Garnham, Aaron Churchyard, David Kempson, Sean Rea (sub Ben Garnham 62 mins), Mark Roper, Simon Peddie, Luke Read, Jon Bickers, Craig Jennings (sub Paul Hart 46 mins), Jack Severy, Ben Seaman. Unused subs: Ted Nichols, Stefan Marsh.
