However, it was
Woodbridge who started the better and looked the
more likely side to break the deadlock in the
opening period.
Mark Roper's
probing ball forward after 10 minutes picked out
O'Neill whose shot on the turn was tipped over
the bar by Duncan McAnally.
The King's Lynn
keeper was called into action again seven
minutes later, when Luke Read's through ball saw
Blake get in a shot that McAnally parried away.
There was a
scare for Woodbridge in the 28th minute when
Marcus Garnham rushed out of his goal to head
clear and Stephen Harvey lobbed the ball just
over the visitors' crossbar.
The home team
posed more of an attacking threat after the
interval and Kyle Nicholls should have done
better when he shot wide from a good position
two minutes after the resumption.
Blake almost got in on goal before play switched
to the other end and Ben Miller did well to
clear a dangerous ball played across the face of
the Woodbridge goal.
Bickers and
Blake set up O'Neill whose effort went over the
bar and then Marcus Garnham had to be alert to
tip Ashley Keegan's shot for a corner.
Left-sided
player David Kempson came on for his debut with
20 minutes remaining and three minutes later set
up Ben Garnham, starting a league game for the
first time since mid-September, but his
well-struck rising shot was too high.
Marcus Garnham
twice denied Keegan as King's Lynn looked to
claim all three points in the closing stages,
but no-one was able to break the deadlock.
