Despite dominating the second period, Woodbridge were still trailing 2-1 until Allicion Blake equalised with 10 minutes remaining before Bickers staged his late, late show.

Woodbridge, who had Mark Roper back in the centre of defence in place of Ben Miller, fell behind inside two minutes when Ronaldo Wright got between Marcus Garnham and Jamie Scales to poke the ball goalwards from the edge of the area and it rolled into the unguarded net.

Daniel Allen's well-struck left-foot shot after 10 minutes was just off target before Woodbridge nearly equalised in the 17th minute. Ben Seaman won the ball in the air and Anthony Johnson bravely threw himself into the path of Paul Berry's goal-bound shot. Mid-way through the half Berry found Seaman and from his cross James Vandecar made a good save low down to his right to deny Blake, before Roper saw a shot saved after Seaman was again the provider.

Ronaldo Wright then threatened for the home team when he took a pass on his chest and shot right across the face of goal and just wide of the far post.

However, the equaliser that Woodbridge had bene threatening duly arrived in the 35th minute when Marcus Garnham threw the ball out to Berry on the right and he carried it inside before playing a defence-splitting pass for Seaman to run on to and shoot home.

The same pair combined again two minutes later, and although Seaman's shot beat Vandecar it was scrambled to safety by a covering defender.

Woodbridge were stunned two minutes befroe the break when Wright's shot rebounded off the inside of the post and Lewis Driver reacted quickest to knock home the loose ball. Six minutes after the interval Blake spurned a gilt-edged opportunity when Scales' long ball sent him sprinting clear of the defence, but he scuffed his shot wide with just the advancing Vandecar to beat.

Lee O'Neill replaced Ben Garnham and a minute later Seaman's shot was saved at the near post and from the resultant corner Blake fired wildly wide. He then did well to get in a fierce effort from a narrow angle from O'Neill's cross but Vandecar was equal to it and was hurt as Blake and the keeper both tried to pounce on the rebound.

Seaman then clipped his shot wide of the far post after being played in by Berry after 77 minutes and you sensed it was just not going to be Woodbridge's night as Wanderers were still defending doggedly.

Three minutes later Blake drilled home through a crowd of players inside the near post to pull the visitors level after a cross from Bickers reached him.

Marcus Garnham was forced to tip over a stinging drive from Owen Rachel two minutes later and Woodbridge replied when Blake pulled the ball back from the byline and Bickers sidefooted just wide.

Paul Hart tried his luck from 30 yards and was not far off target and then Aaron Churchyard's through ball set Blake clear and although his shot beat Vandecar it was hacked clear of the line.

Just when it seemed Woodbridge would be forced to settle for a point O'Neill beat his man on the right to reach the byline and cross low and hard into the area where Bickers arrived to slide home the winner.
